Train to Pakistan is a beautifully written book by Khushwant Singh. This book tells the story of the time after Pakistan was separated from India. Soon after this declaration ten millions of Hindu, Sikh and Muslim people took a flight to come back to India. But very soon their was a ray of war in the northern India and millions of people were killed. Several people were living in terror and were looking for a place to hide.
However during all this there were small villages in some of the remote areas. Similarly there was a village named Mano Majra where Muslim and Sikh families had been living in peace. Khushwant Singh in his novel Train to Pakistan tells how in just one night the life of the people living in Mano Majra changed overnight. Soon after a train came in the village which was carrying dead bodies of millions of people. Since then the people had been just living in fear of their life.
